Cricket Doubles

The Lerwick Legion was the venue for the Cricket Doubles on Friday night there was a disappointing turnout of only 15 pairs so a round robin on four boards was played, with 3 boards of four and a board of three with the winners of each board progressing to the semi finals. Board 1 was won by defending champs Jim Wood & Neal Redfern winning all their games. Board 2 was won by George Mackay & Tommy Williamson after a play off. Board 3 saw Dougie Goudie & Steven Struthers winniong all their games to take a spot in the semi's and on Board 4 the brother partnership of Fraser & Stuart Paul won their two games (with Fraser in unstoppable form) to complete the line up. The semi finals were best of three sets, and Jim & Neal beat George & Tommy 2-1 in a very close match with just a dart in it. Dougie & Steven took their place in the final ending Fraser & Stuart's hopes 2-0. In the final Dougie & Steven pinched the first set thanks to a 5 wicket throw from Steven, but despite Steven also hitting the perfect 3 bulls later Jim & Neal kept hold of their title coming back to win 2-1.

There was 180's recorded from Neal Redfern, Steven Struthers, Dougie Goudie and Stuart Paul.
